Maybe on a crap processor, but on my computer, 6 seconds is about how long it takes to be usable on a regular disk. An SSD would drastically decrease that I think.

But if the subs are in sync until the first commercial that was removed from the vid in the case of TV episode and then desynced, that feature by the looks of it won't help: it -seemingly- "syncs" the subs by a fixed time that applies to the whole vid. Right ?

you can capture a part of the screen. just go to

Tools → Effects and Filters → Video Effects → Crop, and crop the heck out of your video. This is best tested by playing the output of your screencapture device while testing.
Also there are all sorts of video effects you could possibly apply to the video, you capture of your desktop. you could even change them live.

The reason the file is so large is that it is recorded in a raw format.
Open convert and save.
Then add the file you recorded.
Click convert and save.
Choose the format you want.
Choose the destination folder and the file name.
Then click start.
Depending on the video process may take a few minutes or more.
After it is done you can delete the raw file if you want.

i have a problem to add subs to VLC it's worked in the past ..
i just cleaned up some files in my PC and now it's not working !
the subs working only in k-lite codec .

CONCERNING FRAME RATE!!

Make sure that the frames per second number (FPS) for the movie matches the FPS for the subs. Download sites will usually give the FPS for the movie. For the subs, it's often in the title of the sub file. Some subtitle sites also provide it in the 'details' section for the individual subtitle file (subscene for example). Equal FPS is the only criteria for subs and films which will work together. If the FPS is not the same, the film will not sync with the subs. (Some players force you to use a subtitle name which matches that of the film, in which case you must rename the sub file, but this has nothing to do with the FPS issue.)

MISTAKE

A lot of the instructions for using subs state that the title of the sub file and of the movie must match. People give this instruction thinking that this is a way to deal with the FPS problem. This is a MISTAKE because it eliminates using sub files with titles not matching that of the video file. True, if the two titles match, you are guaranteed equal FPS. But you can use a file which does not match the movie on name, as long as the FPS is the same. (23.976 and 25.0 are the only frame rates I know of.)

A related trick. If you have a video without the FPS info and/or a sub file without the FPS info, you can find out if there is a match on FPS as follows. Get the run time for the video. Open the srt file and look at the time for the last subtitle. If these are close, you have probably got a matching pair. To be exactly sure, do the following. Find the time for the last subtitle. Go to that time on the video. If the content of the audio at that point on the film matches the content of the last subtitle, you are guaranteed that the subs will work for the video.

In some cases, even if the FPS is the same, the subs must be either delayed or moved forward to get them to sync with the video. At least some of the players enable this, e.g., smplayer. This of course complicates the two techniques given in the preceding paragraph.

Honestly, MSE (Windows Defender on Windows 8) is barely decent these days. Its detection rates have gone down the drain, and all it does is provide basic inbuilt security in Windows 8. I have personally switched to Avast!, which is both light on system resources and very effective at catching malware.

The issue of the software hanging while attempting to remove (or even allow) suspicious software is borderline unacceptable considering the company that produced the software.
I've also noticed that on Win 7 pro 64bit that sleep/hybernation is not canceled by scan activity, thus half an hour into a scan, my system will do the normal partial shutdown for power saving, and the scan will pause. I'm sure there are work-arounds for this, but it's something people might want to look into if it appears to be taking abnormally long to do a full scan.
Outside those problems the software is pretty much invisible, which I like.
